I had pretty basic goals that I wanted to achieve when I started training with Sam. I have always enjoyed exercising but I wanted to improve my strength and do cross training that would benefit my cycling performance. I had reached a plateau and needed help taking things to the next level. Sam created fun workouts that focussed on strength, stability and balance- teaching me practical exercises and how to lift weight safely and effectively. I have learned so much from Sam and she always pushes me to do my best. Instead of starting somewhere she knows I’m comfortable; she will challenge my abilities and I often end up accomplishing something a lot tougher than I would have gotten into if I worked out on my own. I completed my first Gran Fondo in Whistler last September and training with Sam made me confident I was ready and strong enough to race. Came into Vaughan’s fitness about a month ago looking to get into shape for summer! Being pretty active in the gym already I was looking to get the best out of my workouts for optimal weight loss and toning! The time I’ve spent training with Mel so far has been such a positive experience. I love how she really takes the time to make sure you have proper form and that she pushes me just enough. She’s given me lots of tips and exercises to try when I’m at the gym alone and she’s also showed me some exercises that have helped me with my long distance running goals.**
I couldn’t recommend Vaughan’s Fitness more highly. The focus is always on you and what is right for you on that day and over the long term. I started with Jarid and his team almost a year ago and had a very frustrating – and painful – shoulder injury. No magic potions or ‘fad’ techniques, just sincere two-way communication, appropriate exercise and training, some physical massage, some ‘homework’, and I am virtually pain-free with 95% mobility in just 10 months. Each session is documented and carefully thought out so know matter who trains you, the experience is always the same. There’s an obvious caring about clients that is shown by each team member – but make no mistake, they work you hard! And the great thing is, you begin to love the hard work just as much, and before you know it, you’re in amazing shape physically and mentally!**

Jarid was a huge help in me achieving my goal of making the Canadian National basketball team and getting an NCAA scholarship for Basketball. My strength, fitness, and mobility improved drastically and I am continuing to work with him in preparation for NCAA Division I Basketball at Gonzaga University. This place is great! It’s my first time doing personal training, and before finding this gym I did a lot of research on the web. I am glad I found it– I have had the luxury of doing one-on-one personal training with all the team members, and each one of them are amazing at what they do. Before finding Jarid, I tried out several trainers. When I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I bought a home gym.
After a couple years, the equipment was still looking pretty new, I came across Jarid’s website.

After being in pain for over 3 years from two car accidents and trying many different things working with Sam has been amazing and I wish I had found Vaughan’s fitness sooner! She has worked with me never pushing me if I am in pain but pushing me enough that I see and feel the change in my body. With my busy schedule Sam is always very accommodating and if I am not able to train with her she will give my info to another trainer to train me so I can make sure I continue with my progress of getting better. Sam is a great trainer and kinesiologist. Sam played a vital role in my recovery after a motor vehicle accident; she helped me regain my strength and overcome my injuries through skillfully planned work outs that addressed my physical deficits. Sam is great at keeping the work-out challenging and fun while being able to answer any sort of technical questions. She has a wealth of knowledge in muscle rehabilitation as well as strength training to meet whatever fitness goal you may have.**
